Protein Rich Foods

Protein is the building block of our muscles.  It is necessary for our bodies to get a sufficient amount of protein daily to ensure we function properly.  Foods that contain proteins generally are meat, soy products and nuts.  We can also obtain protein though supplements. Many products like whey protein has more than enough protein we can use.  Whey protein is generally found in cheese products and other dairy products. We need protein to help our bodies grow.  We need it to for our finger nails, hair, and repairs our skin cells.  This is why the fitness world is so focused on protein.  They know a diet high in protein will give you better results and will help your muscles repair faster.  There are diets that are solely composed of protein and nothing else, such as the Atkins diet.  This diet claims to help you loose weight without eating any carbohydrates.  This diet is effective, but it is not recommended to be practiced over a long time period.

Protein Rich Foods

Most foods that contain protein are already infamous for having a high protein content like, steak, fish, and peanut butter.  But there are some others that aren’t well known such as hummus, oranges, and asparagus. The amount of protein in cheese is the highest with 41.6 for a 100g
serving.  Everyone has his or her own specific recommended protein intake. Check out Protein Intake Calculator to calculate yours.  The best way you should consume foods that have a high dosage of protein is spread them evenly throughout the day.  This is because if your body takes in a lot of protein that it doesn’t need it won’t use it, as compared to carbohydrates.  Some other
foods that you may not think of containing protein are:

  •  Peas
  • Coconut
  • Potatoes
  • Brown Rice
  • Goji Berries

Meals High In Protein

Almost every meal in somehow incorporpoated with protein.  Mainly meals that have chicken, beef, and fish are the easiest ways to consume protein because they are always readily available.  Also meals that contain soy and tofu contain a more healthy protein with less fat.  A good meal that I personally like is Bourbon Chicken.  It contains substantial amount of protein and tastes great.  You can find the recipe at Bourbon Chicken.  This particular recipe has 50.0 grams of protein and has a low amount of fat.

Anther meal I cook regularly is Chicken Lazone.  It is a quick meal to cook, with only five minutes to prep and twenty minutes to cook.
You can find the recipe at Chicken Lazone.  This delicious dish contains spices and different seasonings to make chicken taste great.  This meal has 51.3 grams of protein.  It’s an excellent option if you don’t have a lot of time to cook.  In 25 minutes you could have a meal that you will love.

 

A lot of Americans consume more protein than they actually need.  A lot of people don’t need to worry about protein if they have a normally diet that balanced every food group.  Women who are pregnant should be concerned somewhat because they need protein the most.  When pregnant it is important to consume a lot of protein because your unborn child will need it to develop and grow.
