The Best Ab Workout Techniques and Diet (How To Get Results In the First Week)

Everyone wants them, but not many people can be able to show them. Everyone has abs; they are just usually covered in a layer of fat. You could have the strongest abs in the world, but even if you have a thin layer of fat on your stomach, you won’t be able to give people the “Washboard Show”.

But just to note, that the layer of fat isn’t the only issue people have. It’s also the wrong exercises they do. This is where I went wrong for so many years. I was doing crunches over and over again to a point where I just thought that is was impossible to get abs.

But as I researched more, I realized that just doing things a little bit differently could drastically change my results, in a relatively short time, as I would find out. Here’s what I learned and then put into action.

  • Body fat percentage below 10% – This is important to show abs, but isn’t the only thing, as we will see. To find your BMI click here.
  • Performing two exercises twice a week. (I’m about to show you these.)

How To Get Your Body Fat Percentage Under 10%

As I said before on this blog and I will say it again, your diet has a direct effect on your fitness goals. If you eat right and you keep track of what you put into your body then you will succeed in getting abs.

If you eat a diet that is high in protein and low in carbs, abs will come, be patient. If you need a little help with this then here are a few pointers.

Eat breakfast – It’s no secret that breakfast will lower your overall body fat percentage. Just a simple banana or granola bar is better than nothing. Try avoiding cream in your coffee or other fattening things in the morning. The reasons can be found in this article. I highly recommend reading this.

Drink a lot of water – Another thing that you have probably heard before is to drink a lot of water. What this does is it will make your body loose excess water weight because your body realizes that you don’t need it.

See back in the cave man days this was needed because you never knew when you were going to get another drink of water, so your body stored it, just in case. But today you can easily get a bottle of water anytime you want.

Implement a healthy diet – Find a diet that is high in protein and low in carbohydrates. Protein burns fat, as carbs do the opposite. Here’s a great resource for the perfect diet.

Cardio – Running helps loose fat. But you already knew that, right?

  1. this book is good. i did a lot of his 5×5 sets for heavy weightlifting, and got some pretty decent gains in a short time. it is WAY harder than you would think, its a little tough to keep track of the timing too.

    also, i would add to the cardio comment, that ‘intense’ cardio is really key.
