The Health Benefits Of Running
Why run? Why go through all the trouble of running when you could be sitting on the couch watching t.v.? Is running really that beneficial to your health? What’s the difference from the benefits of walking vs running?
I’m here to tell you that there are so many benefits to running that I could probably write a book about it. From the physical benefits of running to the mental benefits of running, people gain more from running than a doctor can give medication. It can treat depression and running can help you lose weight.
To some people running is considered a drug. A drug that will make you feel good inside. You probably have heard about this and may have even experienced it yourself. A “runner’s high” is in itself just another way of your body telling you that you are doing a good thing and you are going to be healthier as a result.
A lot of people struggle with losing weight, but running can change all of that. With a simple running plan and diet plan anyone who consistently runs, will no doubt lose weight, it’s impossible NOT too. As you run your body uses the excess fat that is stored in your body and uses it as energy. If you can eat healthier foods and cut back on sweets and run at least two miles a day you can easily lose a significant amount of weight in a short time.
Benefits Of Running Daily

You may not like the idea of running daily, but you don’t have to run everyday to get the benefits from running. You may not even have time to run everyday either. But the benefits of running daily are much better than running a couple of times a week.
The reason why I like running everyday is because running clears my head. After a long run I feel relaxed and all the stress seems to be gone. In a sense running is like meditating, that is if you aren’t listening to headphones.
I feel like I can think more clearly when I’m on a run and that’s especially why I like to run by myself. It allows me to get “me time”. I can think about what I what to accomplish today and tomorrow and what my long and short-term goals are.
There are also some health benefits of running daily too. One benefit is you can lose weight relatively quicker compared to running three times a week. As I mentioned before, the more you run the more you will lose weight. Anther health benefit is that it lowers your blood pressure, which will reduce your chance of having a heart attack.
You will also help your bones and muscles become stronger, both helping you become healthier as a result. The stronger your bones are, the less likely you will have an injury, especially as you get into your older years. Risk of type two diabetes will also decrease if you run daily.
And the best thing about running daily, in my opinion, is that you get a sense of being happier. The runners high is an incredible feeling, but it doesn’t last a little bit after your run, it lasts throughout your day. And if you are doing it daily then everyday you will be happy and content. You will appreciate life more and be enthusiastic toward your goals.
If running everyday seems like a daunting task then just start running a mile a day, then work your way up from there. You can still get incredible benefits of running a mile a day than if you were to run 5 miles.
Benefits Of Running In The Morning
The benefits of running in the morning are more mental than it is physical. If you get up early in the morning and go for a run, your entire day is most likely going to be more relaxed. Running in the morning will clear your head and will give you a change to think about what you want to accomplish that day.
You have probably heard the saying “early to bed, early to rise, makes a man wealthy, healthy, and wise” well, that is true, especially if you rise and go for a run! There is a great article that I recommend you read that expands on the benefits of rising early. Check it out Here.
